Principal’s Welcome

  • TAS-026 20170131-233 copy

Welcome.  I am honoured to commence this year as the eighth principal of Trinity Anglican School, the leading independent school located in Cairns, Far North Queensland.

Trinity Anglican School, a member of the highly-regarded network of Anglican schools, is well-known throughout Queensland for graduating outstanding young men and women who have gone on to achieve amazing things after finishing school.

For more than 20 years I have taught and held leadership positions in regional Anglican schools, the last 14 years in regional Queensland. Originally with a background as a qualified, practising engineer, I have always had a passion for teaching young people. I encourage the use of data collection and analysis to improve student learning and I believe that all students are capable of improvement beyond their own expectations and can achieve sustained success both in and out of the classroom with the right support structure and encouragement.

I hope you will spend some time investigating our website. We believe that the opportunities available to students at Trinity Anglican School in Music, Sport, Drama, the Arts, Outdoor Education and International Education (through our membership of the Round Square organisation of schools from around the world) are second to none. When this is combined with a high-performing Academic program that encourages all students to strive for academic achievement, and a Service program aligned with the IDEALS of the Round Square, it means that an education at Trinity Anglican School is a most important and valuable investment in your child’s future.

Paul Sjogren
Principal
